I'd be curious to hear someone's 15 to 20 guesses for the New Year's drawing.

No, no, no. This is Matt's "Oh come on."

This, I suspect, was his reaction to the time I tried to guess a year's worth of releases at once.

Jeff is pretty close, but it's probably more like this:

Informed guessing of a year's worth of releases is one thing, but soliciting guesses for what might be in a drawing of hints that doesn't exist yet is just beyond the pale. Even the Mubi forums don't want that shit.

I'd have assumed Matt's image would have been less dramatic and more just a flicker of disappointment, so I would have suggested this:

I'm guessing we'll see a L'AVVENTURA Blu in April or May - the playdates of the new Janus distributed resto are coming to an end...

In my haste I neglected to include The Lady from Shanghai. I have a feeling this is the month we will finally see it. At least, I hope so. We all know, more or less certainly, that it's coming eventually, so I think that the Current article by Peter Cowie about Welles *might* mean nothing, it probably means Lady from Shanghai--if not this month--will be showing up very soon.

I can't wait anymore for this upgrade. I only hope that they make an exception by not using the Janus poster as their new cover art.

You could hardly have picked a worse time to make this prediction. Sorry.
