From director William Castle (The Whistler, The Tingler) comes Undertow, a riveting tale of betrayal starring Scott Brady (The China Syndrome), Dorothy Hart (Larceny), and Bruce Bennett (Sahara).

Reformed Chicago mobster Tony Reagan (Brady) is framed for the murder of his former boss, Big Jim, the uncle of his fiancée, Sally (Hart). Forced to go on the run, he seeks to clear his name with the help of an old friend (Bennett).

Awful film, why wouldn’t they just bury this in one of their noir sets?

How can Lee Gambin have recorded part of his commentary in 2026 when he's already passed away?

They really just don’t wanna do Universal Noir #3 at this point (I don’t blame them).

Recorded in 2022, edited in 2026.

Lee was a truly lovely bloke to work with, but you perhaps won't be too surprised to hear that his irrepressibly enthusiastic commentaries typically took a fair amount of editorial effort to beat into usable shape - he'd do something scene-specific, then would go off at a complete tangent, then would presumably take a break and kick off the recording again with something else scene-specific, ignoring the fact that his tangent massively overran his original timing plan.

Oh, and I'd happily have posted that when he was still alive, and he'd no doubt have cheerfully agreed! In fact, he never wanted to listen to the final version (although obviously he was always given approval opportunity), saying that he trusted us to get it right.

On the website I see March 23 as release date now. Same for the other two in the bundle.

Undertow has now been updated to April 20th. The other "January" releases still have a March release date but I suspect they'll be pushed to April as well.
