I see that Fox UK has been putting out the studio classics line,
but with some different titles from the US one
(The covers are different too)

There are some good titles in there,
but how about extra material? I can't seem to find reviews or info on the Fox site.

The Fly, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Fantastic Voyage, etc.
They are reasonably priced, but i want to know whats on them.

By the way, Fox/MGM Japan have their own Studio Classics line,
which I highly recommend AVOIDING.

extremely overpriced, screwed up system, mostly rereleasing their old discs with no extras and sometimes taking away extras, and slapping the white studio classics background. (non-anamorphic titles sometimes....)

I have three studio classics releases from the UK (Lady In Cement, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte and Thieves Highway) and they have no extras on them except for a trailer (not on the Thieves Highway DVD). Quality is good!

Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte from the US (which I have) has a commentary and a trailer while Thieves Highway has a great Criterion release.

Are there any UK releases that eclipse the US releases or are they all just barebones affairs with good transfers?

As far as I'm aware they all lack the extras of their R1 counterparts save trailers.

Fox UKs new Cinema Reserve line however is more generous, in some cases outdoing the R1 disc, in others coming up slightly short
