Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Hudson Hawk (Special Edition) for 25th July 2006 priced at $19.94 SRP. An ex-cat burglar (Bruce Willis) sets out to steal a series of priceless artifacts in this globe-spanning caper.

I'm waiting until I see the packaging before I decide if I will double dip. This is easily a favorite of mine but the features don't seem that greatly increased.

He also shows pondering by looking up at a tree or something. There's a body on the ground and he's looking at a tree.

Because a nice cover, menus and disc art could tip the scales in favor of buying a slightly better DVD than the one I own.

Yes, he shoots people and he's very good at it.

Even after seeing this movie over 200 times (I stopped counting after I became sterile), I'll still buy three copies.

I love this movie. I'm not sure why people choose to hate this, it's better than any James Bond movie. But I'm not going to buy it again, all I need is the commentary track.

I've never bought it and I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I must admit, when it's on TV, I usually end up watching it.

Seriously? 'Hudson Hawk' 15th Anniversary DVD

Is there some sort of 'Hudson Hawk' geek-a-zoid group that we don't know about? Is the film really popular in France? Are Sandra Bernhard's fans responsible? What could possibly explain Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's decision to release 'Hudson Hawk: 15th Anniversary Edition' on DVD?

The July 25th release is getting a spanky new transfer, a digital audio upgrade, deleted scene menu, a trivia subtitle track and two behind-the-scenes featurettes.

If you don't remember this Bruce Willis comedy adventure, keep it that way.

I wonder why they didn't chose to port over the commentary track from the first release. It's not a bad listen since Michael Lehmann does point out some of the things that work for the film and the things that don't. He does point out that if you want the real dirt on the film to read Richard E. Grant's With Nails. I still think the film was way ahead of it's time, which is why most everyone hated it when it came out. Had they went into it knowing that it was going to be something of a campy caper film send-up, and not as most people thought Die-Hard with cat-burglars, I think that more people would have liked it.

Do you think because it has Da Vinci in it that they think they can capitalize on the The Da Vinci Code coming out? Though releasing it on DVD two months later I guess doesn't make sense. But that's the only reason I can think of. It's not as horrible as everyone made it out to be, but there aren't many fans (the only one I know is one buddy who went through hell looking for the VHS years ago after it was apparently discontinued. It was seriously a quest for him and he was obsessed. The sad part is he found it, then it was released on DVD a couple of months later.)

I'm more of a Jade fan myself! (I particularly like his expressions of frustration during the car chase scene!)
