Warner Home Video has sent over package artwork for the Twisted Terror Collection which includes Deadly Friend, Dr. Giggles, Eyes of a Stranger, From Beyond the Grave, The Hand, and Someone's Watching Me. The six-disc package will be available to own from the 25th September, and should retail at around $49.92. Titles will also be available seperately for around $14.97 a pop. The artwork is attached:

I thought that Dr. Giggles was owned/made by Universal? I wonder how Warner got ahold of it?

Well, I wasn't expecting The Devils, so I am happy enough to see From Beyond the Grave finally recieve a legit release, after years of confusion over who owned the rights these days. I have not seen it, but Eyes of a Stranger has never been shown in the USA uncut, to the best of my knowledge, much to the chagrin of gore-hounds and Tom Savini fans, so hopefully, Warner won't let them down. But I hear ya, Lino, Warner need to get The Devils out there already.

I really like this lineup (the "guilty pleasures" comment on the HTF chat made me think that whatever we were getting at Halloween would be part of the Cult Camp Classics line), but that packaging is atrocious - it looks like WB is going for the Saw/Hostel/Lionsgate crowd. Still, I think all of these are pretty good picks.

Whilst obviously fun to watch the quality piece of 80s cheese that is The Hand again, the real gem here (at least for me) is From Beyond The Grave. This is, as far as I'm concerned, Amicus's finest anthology and, along with Scream and Scream Again, their finest film. It is one of the highpoints of the British Horror boom of the 50s to 70s - come to think of it, one of the best British films of the 70s.

All four stories are excellent - I forget the titles but the second, with Donald & Angela Pleasance, Ian Bannen and Diana Dors is a particular standout - and the framing narrative has Peter Cushing with odd Yorkshire accent ("Naughty, Naughty!"). Good as the EC films are (the Peter Cushing segment in Tales is first rate), this is THE Amicus anothology to have.

I agree with regard to FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE. The problem is, everything else here stinks. Luckily FBTG will be available as a standalone.

Apparently this IS all (or nearly all) we're getting from Warner this year, according to my sources. I'm told that the planned follow-up set to LEGENDS OF HORROR (which would have included things like THE WALKING DEAD, THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS, FRANKENSTEIN 1970, THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, etc.) has apparently been delayed.

No idea why -- except maybe Warner felt there was just too much product of this type coming on the market this Halloween? It IS shaping up to be a very busy Sept and Oct for classic horror and sci fi releases.

I was wondering the same thing. The original dvd was done by Good Times and it went OOP a long time ago. I always thought that Universal later on was going to release it since the films has always been a property of theirs.

Anybody have this yet? The Hand (Stone, Caine, one-handed cartoonist), From Beyond the Grave (I've gone Amicus mad after Tales/Vault), and (for whatever reason) Dr. Giggles have me sold on the set instead of the singles (the other three titles look okay too, IMO, and at least have contributions from Carpenter, Craven, Savini, et al., as well as the films' being uncut). It's been a most enjoyable year thus far horror DVD-wise, enough so that I can live with this being Warner's only contribution.
