"He is Conan, Cimmerian, he won't cry, so I cry for him."

I haven't seen this since I was a teen, but I'm thinking of buying it to get free shipping from Amazon UK. Which is the best version currently available? I have a codefree player so I'm talking worldwide.

Thanks.

Don't go for the UK discs, as they are cut.
All other regions are uncut.

The Australian, Japanese, Hong Kong Korean, Dutch, etc Fox 2 disc releases are identical with DTS sound, but no original mono.

The US release is fine, but only has the original mono, and not DTS, if you're a purist

Be aware, though, this film is listed on the fairly reliable Highdef Digest as eventually coming to HD DVD

Not sure how that works, since in Australia it's a Fox title. But, I'm waiting on the odd chance, anyway. I think scenes like Thulsa Doom's immense staircase at the end really require HD (same with 'Cleopatra,' which is a film I'd like to see again, but I'm holding off on the chance of a HD release.

Thanks for the info. Is there a difference between the current US release and the two-sided US release with Conan the Destroyer on the other side?
