This MGM musical with Jane Powell, Elizabeth Taylor, Carmen Miranda, Wallace Beery, and Xavier Cugat is a Deep Discount exlusive and will be released on November 11. It's price is $14.99. No extras have been announced yet, but the cover art is available.
Maybe WB is testing the waters 1st before releasing a set of Jane's musicals.

Here it is.
What a strange move. I hope they don't start with that whole Best Buy Exclusive shit that Universal is doing. As for the movie, count me in - it's got Carmen Miranda in it. Nuff said.

It kinda makes me wonder if they wanted this to flop cause they didn't make even make an announcement. Someone just came across it randomly.Lino wrote:Here it is.

These Warner "exclusives" are usually only exclusive for a short time, right? Mogambo and Three Godfathers were Target exclusives before they were issued in the Gable and Ford/Wayne boxes later, and you can get those DVD Decision discs that were formerly Amazon exclusives anywhere now. These don't seem to be like the Universal/Best Buy exclusives that just go out of print after a month.
I'd bet on another entry in the Classic Musicals from the Dream Factory series over a Jane Powell box.

If that's the case, maybe I should wait.Matt wrote:These Warner "exclusives" are usually only exclusive for a short time, right? Just a heads up to say I received my "Date With Judy" DVD from Deep Discount today - extras (for those interested) are the film's trailer, vintage short "Martin Block's Musical Merry-Go-Round" and the cartoon "Professor Tom".
Seems like a nice Technicolor print - looking forward to viewing this over the weekend (or maybe sooner?)

Re: A Date With Judy
Anyone looking to fund their retirement might try picking this DVD up-- it's going for $100+ on eBay and Amazon! It's not even an imagined availability thing, as a current eBay auction for a new copy is at $116 and rising. What the hell, wasn't this like eight dollars at some point? #-o
