I found the premise intriguing and I'm pretty much a sucker for any gambling/casino movies so I watched this last night, and yeah, it's pretty bad. It's amazing to watch a studio so thoroughly court an audience between 12 and 16 years old. The film becomes less concerned with the con than with "love story", the "be yourself" message and making sure every major ethnic group is catered to. But most hilariously, Jim Sturgess is supposed to be playing an uber-nerd who is unattractive to girls, but he spends most of the film looking like he just walked out of an Urban Outfitters. And Kevin Spacey is an auto-pilot here, giving a variation on this "asshole" routine. But I'm even more concerned that he was a producer on this mess. So if you were thinking of watching this even based on a casual interest, save yourself a couple of hours.

Just saw the trailer for this and I think I´ll pass. I assume this is "inspired" by the same story that was covered in the documentary on the Oceans 13 disc? Remember thinking that the story could make a pretty good film, but they never mentioned an evil mentor (Kevin Spacey) and Mr. Fishburne giving them a beating. Details added by Hollywoods finest I suppose.
