This was always one of my faves of John Sayles' films. 'Bout time it got the SE treatment...

This disc is a great deal; I got it for under $10 and it has over an hour and a half of quality featurettes (I was dubious, but they were all well worth the time). Haven't gotten to the Sayles commentary (the featurettes were enough for me, I think), but if you're at all interested in the film/the history behind it, then this is a can't-miss purchase.

Got a chance to watch this disc tonight and I was glad to revisit one of my favorite baseball films. Great cast too - I had forgotten Richard Edson was involved. The only thing that bothered me is how awful and washed out the transfer gets for the final ten minutes. Is it the same way on way on the previous edition?

That's a deliberate effect expressing how some of the innocence and spirit of the game has been lost, not a transfer defect. It was the same on the previous disc.Antoine Doinel wrote:The only thing that bothered me is how awful and washed out the transfer gets for the final ten minutes.
