Norwegian silent starlets

#1 Post by Knappen »

Having seen the very good Troll-Elgen at the Cinematheque in Oslo recently and likewise having noticed a considerable increase in the demand for Norwegian silents at the forum because of the dvd release of Brudeferden i Hardanger, I thought I'd do like the East Europeans and try to boost the interest with young female beauty.

I thus propose to have a poll for the hottest Norwegian film starlets of the silent area. Voters pm me from friday 30th till thursday 5th with a ranking from 1-6 for the candidates. If someone have propositions for other candidates these should be made quickly.

#1. Asta Nielsen (not the Danish starlet) in Fante-Anne (Breistein 1920)

#2. Lillebil Ibsen in Pan(Schwenzen 1922)

#3. Tove Tellback in Glomdalsbruden(Dreyer 1926)

#4. Aase Bye in Brudeferden i Hardanger(Breistein 1926)

#5. Mimi Kihle in Troll-Elgen (Fyrst 1927)

#6. Mona Mårtenson in Laila(Schnéevoigt 1929)

This is an insane thread. I love it! If you squint, the bootleg Asta Nielsen could be late Bette Davis - hag horror waiting to happen.

We accept the charming miss Nissen as contestant numer six as Mona MÃ¥rtenson has been disqualified. It turned out she is Swedish.

But no grabs of that notorious Norwegian Vamp Doxstein Flox?
We found some very compromising information on her in Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon and decided she was infit to enter the competition.
