DVD Question: Good Bye Lenin!

#1 Post by psufootball07 »

I saw this film this past semester and it resonated well with me. I was wondering why there was no region 1 DVD available right now. If anyone can clarify why this film no longer is in print it would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't this one of the slew of Sony titles that went OOP a few years back?

I have Netflix and the library at my school has it available, I thought I could pick it up for $10-15 on Amazon or DVDPlanet, I hope this gets a new release at some point, it is worth seeing a couple of times and is relatively new, so hopefully this being out of print means something new is on its way?

Yes. Sony put this and other titles OOP in hopes of licensing them to third parties like Criterion.

Edit: By the way, the DVD is easy to find for a cheap price.
