Brothers (Jim Sheridan, 2009)

#1 Post by flyonthewall2983 »

Don't know if it's online yet, but the Brothers trailer was shown before Public Enemies. Judging from the trailer, it balances between good and bad pretty thin. "Tobey Maguire" and "intense" were two phrases I didn't think I'd use before today.

Here it is.

Looks exactly like Susanne Bier's original Brothers but with a more stable camera. The trailer gives away the entire film.

I thought so. Can't be any worse than that Couples Retreat...ugh.

I never saw the original, but this looks pretty good, even if I feel like I've already seen it after watching that trailer. It's been delayed several times, but looks to be positioned for Oscar consideration with its December release. Maguire indeed looks to deliver a very powerful performance.

Wow, that trailer looks awful. And the music in it certainly didn't help matters.
