I wonder if this is an attempt to make up for the damage that Boat Trip did?cgray wrote:
Is that meant to be a rainbow or effluent streaming out of the back of that ship? Why do so many people on cruise ships seem to come down with food poisoning - at least in films? Perhaps it is an easy way of making a crisis worse..."Captain we are taking on water, there are only two lifeboats and to make things worse half the crew have eaten the shrimp!"
And why does the person singing in the bottom left corner remind me of the Grand Duke from And The Ship Sailed On?

Another crappy repackaging, they might as well have labeled it "Fun & Flirty":

What is it with studios and loud primary colors these days?
(By the way, I feel a little embarrassed mentioning how much I like this movie, but the Tom Hanks director's cut makes it feel like it's been dragged out to epic length).

How much has been added to it? I remember liking it when I saw it on television, and it always helps in these films for the band to have a catchy song they are always having to play!patrick wrote:(By the way, I feel a little embarrassed mentioning how much I like this movie, but the Tom Hanks director's cut makes it feel like it's been dragged out to epic length).

39 minutes doesn't surprise me, it felt even longer. The original cut is snappy and quickly paced, and after watching Hanks' director's cut (which I suppose in this case just meant he added every last bit of footage that was removed back in) I think the pacing of the theatrical version is part of what makes it so likeable. I didn't mind the added musical scenes though.
