Good news for those interested in getting the Columbia Noir III set: my copy arrived today and not only does it come with a sturdier slipcover than the Bogart set, but it doesn't come in that awful packaging that needed instructions.

Bad news: this is no longer correct, as I received my copy of the "corrected" packaging today and it is indeed in the shitty Back to the Future packagingDirk wrote:Good news for those interested in getting the Columbia Noir III set: my copy arrived today and not only does it come with a sturdier slipcover than the Bogart set, but it doesn't come in that awful packaging that needed instructions.

I'm definitely interested in the Esther Williams movie, though I can't say I'm too familiar with the others.

Re: TCM Vault Collection
Is there a comparison between the r2 Dishonored and Shanghai Express and the TCM release anywhere?

Re: TCM Vault Collection
I believe the TCM release is slightly better with Shanghai Express being uncut.

Re: TCM Vault Collection
Is there a best time to pre-order, or is it generally true that the pressed releases won't sell out before the release date?

Ten Cents a Dance is a distinguished early Stanwyck, if memory serves. I'd despaired of ever getting it on a pressed disc. Can't remember if I've seen any of the others.

Re: TCM Vault Collection
According to New York Post's Lou Lumenick the TCM/Sony sets are offered as pressed discs only:

Isn't that what they said about the Douglas Sirk set as well?

That's Universal, not Sony though.

Re: TCM Vault Collection
Weren't the first printing of the Sirks pressed, then they reverted to burnt? It could well be the same situation here.
