Is that really so terrible a cover?

I mean, I'm sure it's an absolutely terrible film (maybe even as bad as The Dark Knight Rises!!), but that artwork seems absolutely bog standard to me.

Is the film made with bobble-headed dolls a la Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story?

It's worth pointing out at the After Earth poster is a fake. The photos are pulled from older films, and the credit block is from The Last Airbender.

After looking at that last cover I posted again I realized that someone made a movie about this incident and this guy nicknamed Epic Beard Man:

Did someone at Fox mistakenly use this publicity shot from Fallen Angel?

Nope. Fox has provided the original promotional photo due to people complaining it's not Tierney...

There should be a meme wherein random people have their faces squished up against Dana Andrews' chin.

If they didn't want to get complaints that it doesn't look like Tierney, then maybe avoid messing around with the photo until the image almost doesn't resemble her. Why give her blonde hair, for instance?

That cover makes it look as though Tierney and Andrews have been frozen in a meat freezer. And for some reason they've erased most of the shadows and contours from her face, making it look flat.

They look like Sean Connery and Tippi Hedren during the thunderstorm in Marnie

I get it - because she's been involved with a much younger man in real life, right?

(Although that tagline would be amusingly wrong in so many ways if applied to Disclosure, the film she did with Michael Douglas)
