I've bought and special ordered several WA titles at Orbit. They do restock them, but I believe they said recently that WA titles are non-returnable so they don't order many copies at a time and recommend preordering.

I see that OrbitDVD does carry some, but they don't have the June/July titles I want. I might just go with Deep Discount.

So it looks like Warner's has outsourced the sale of their Archive titles to Movie Zyng and all Warner's sells on their own site is hideous branded tchotchkes. It really has to be seen to be believed, who buys this crap? It doesn't look like the TCM shop exists any more either. Oldies.com still exists, but I haven't used them in a while & don't know if they do sales. There was an anniversary sale for the Warner Archive store at 50% off any title Movie Zyng had in stock about 3 months ago, so maybe that's an annual thing & you'll have to wait a year. Alternatively you can put titles in your Amazon cart & save for later to see if the price ever drops enough. But it seems like the 10 for $10 sale days are over.

Disappointing slate

I Died a Thousand Times (Stuart Heisler 1955) Color Cinemascope remake of High Sierra, ie something literally no one asked for. Not that anything really works in this overlong mess, but Jack Palance is sorely miscast in the Bogart role here. Palance is unparalleled at inhabiting roles of imposition and menace, lending a lean physical threat to his mere presence. But he lacks Bogart's ability and willingness to appear pathetic (as evidenced not just in High Sierra but also in this round's Conflict), and so the whole doomed infatuation with the crippled girl plays out inertly as Palance just stands there as his crush lobs dismissals across the plate.

Feltenstein is on the latest edition of The Extra talking about the new announcements. I didn't listen but according to the folks over at the HTF he said some titles that were supposed to be announced for Sept have been pushed to Oct. GF said that October will be a substantial month. I wonder if his substantial and my substantial mean the same

These are listed on MovieZyng as one film per disc. MSRP of $10 per disc, a true bargain when it comes to WAC discs. I was afraid they'd try to cram multiple discs per film with low bitrates, making these less appealing (in terms of quality) than individual releases.

I believe all of these films have been released on Blu individually, so it makes sense that WB will just bundle the already available discs. It’s cool that they are replicating the old Legends of Horror DVD set entirely. I am also guessing that Robin Hood in the Flynn set will just be the ancient disc rather than a new restoration.

I'd expect WAC to release the other Hammer films they have the US rights to that are being upgraded in the UK to 4K UHD down the road as well. Easy money as a collaboration.

Besides the two books (and poster and art cards), this is missing the bonus disc, only in the limited edition, which has the feature length Flesh and Blood documentary, the Tales of Frankenstein TV pilot and a couple of extras relating to these.

If the main book is as good as those for the others, it’s definitely worth getting.

They are saying on the bluray.com WAC thread that this will be region locked. Even the 4k disc

It's against the spec but still physically possible and a few have previously turned up region-locked by accident
