From director Ron Underwood (Tremors) comes City Slickers, the hilarious, heartfelt modern comedy western that became one of the most beloved films of the 1990s.

Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal) is a disillusioned New Yorker on the verge of a midlife crisis. Along with his two best friends, Ed (Bruno Kirby) and Phil (Daniel Stern), he signs up for the ultimate getaway: a two-week cattle drive across the rugged landscapes of New Mexico to Colorado. Trading their desk chairs for saddles, the trio quickly discover that wrangling cattle under the watch of the grizzled trail boss Curly (Jack Palance) is a lot tougher than they ever imagined.

Packed with unforgettable performances, sweeping scenery, and big laughs, City Slickers blends sharp comedy with heartfelt reflections on friendship in a moving homage to the spirit of the Western.

Bruno Kirby gives a fantastic performance in this, way more memorable watching it again more recently than I did as a 90’s kid. I think the most I ever thought of it were the herding scenes and the animated opening credits.

I was very upset when I missed out on the chance to bid on some cels from the opening sequence a few weeks ago
