Not a guess, you can see comparisons on youtube if curious...the opening has had very slightly altered (I dare say inconsequential) edit for some time now, compared to the theatrical...probably the byproduct of a restoration somewhere along the way, and it was never caught. Strictly for obsessives, but then I suppose that is why we are here.Adam X wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:54 am I assumed beamish was referring to one of the extras mentioned in the previous post. Had no idea the film itself was altered. Or is that just you hazarding a guess?

While I hope for films in general to not be altered during a restoration or for a home video release, I can’t say I’m obsessive enough to notice most things like this. Even when it comes to one of my favourite directors, there’s just not enough time in a day

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
Halloween confirmed by a postcard someone got in their copy of The Monster Squad 4K.
Whether it's the first film only or at least a box set of 1-5 remains to be seen, but worth noting a) other High Fliers titles have recently been announced by Arrow (Blue Velvet, Trick or Treat) meaning 2&3 may well happen too, and b) Arrow currently have streaming rights for 4&5, as well as the original film. Some have speculated this might not be until 2028, for the original film's 50th Anniversary, but either way it will be upcoming.
The remaining sequels are likely with Paramount (one or two possibly Lionsgate); Paramount recently announced H20 on 4K in the UK so that's likely out of the question. Both the Rob Zombie and David Gordon Green reboots are with Universal, so not sure if Arrow could twist their arm with those or not (seems they've not licensed much from Universal in recent years).

Hope they've finally worked out the logistics of packaging it in a pumpkin

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news again, but it's another Wild Bunch-style hoax I'm afraid, Arrow currently doesn't have the rights to any version of IT. Would love to do the miniseries in its proper two-part format if we ever could! Don't shoot the messenger, please chase after the relevant shitposter with pitchforks.

James you could simply clear up this matter once and for all by publicly disclosing here all of the coming Arrow releases for the next three years. Thank you.JamesF wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 8:14 am Sorry to be the bearer of bad news again, but it's another Wild Bunch-style hoax I'm afraid, Arrow currently doesn't have the rights to any version of IT. Pretty fucked up that you're allowed to spread misinformation like that on the other forum and get no punishment for it. This is like the second or third time this has happened if I'm remembering correctly.

Yup, I was duped. He's a regular on there and known for causing mischief, but I still fell for it. Worth noting JamesF didn't mention this one though...James Stock wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 2:42 pmThe Halloween postcard was also confirmed to be fake.rapta wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 3:26 pm Halloween confirmed by a postcard someone got in their copy of The Monster Squad 4K.

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
Hey James, Blu-ray.com is convinced that Arrow’s new Cujo 4K was encoded in a wrong color space as its colors lack saturation compared to the earlier releases. Exactly the same discussion happened recently when Eureka released Danger Diabolik but in fact it was their release that turned out to be the correct as they corrected a metadata error in the master:
Do you know by any chance if Arrow’s QC or VDMS, who did the encode, caught the same metadata errors and corrected it for the Cujo 4K? Thanks!During the disc authoring process, we discovered a metadata inconsistency with the original 4K master supplied to us by Paramount. If we had used this master, it would have resulted in HDR grading either too saturated or too dull. After consulting with Fidelity in Motion we went back to Paramount who agreed there was a mistake and sent over corrected metadata which is what we used for the final authoring process and are confident is the intended look of the film.
