It's my own fault for not only clicking on that link, but sitting through the commercial to get to the trailer. The experience peaked with the commercial.

For a second there, I misread the thread title and I was pretty darn impressed. Thought Altman was doing a Kubrick/AI type of thing.

Never heard of Alterman.

I opened the link, saw Will Ferrell in sport clothes, said "no", and closed the tab.

I wonder how many Semi-Pro inspired Halloween costumes we can expect to see next year, all anyone has to do is mix and match their previous Will Ferrell costumes and BINGO!

Well I guess as long as fake facial hair is funny to people, Will Farrell will have an audience.

This is refreshing.

Okay...maybe I'm not the foremost Ferrell hater on the planet.

How sad is it that I long for Will Ferrell to take 'risks' like Stranger than Fiction? Domino's right: the egomaniacal fashion designer/anchorman/ice skater/NASCAR driver/basketball player is getting old.

Which is too bad, because Will Ferrell can be one funny dude.

No thanks -- I'll just watch the Lakers fantasy sequence in Fletch again.

"He's actually 6'5", with afro 6'9". Pretty good dribbler..."

I dunno, I am actually looking forward to seeing Semi-Pro. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun -- esp. the basketball scenes. Plus, Woody Harrelson looks like he's having a blast and can be a lot of fun to watch with the right material.

But Ferrell's gonna have a hard time topping Anchorman.

I have a deep and abiding love for the lore and history of that freakshow known as the American Basketball Association, and their far-out invention the red, white, and blue ball. And a fair amount of tolerance for Ferrell and generic Apatowism. I tend to doubt they've absorbed everything that made the ABA great (Marvin Barnes! Connie Hawkins! Darnell Hillman's hair! Arrest warrants! Floridians cheerleaders in bikinis! The entirety of the San Diego Conquistadors!), but I can't help but be in the bag for this.

I'm trying to stop waxing nostalgic long enough to hit the submit button on this post, but then something else flashes through my head - for instance, I just remembered the back of Louie Dampier's Kentucky Colonels card informing us that "Louie's favorite food is liver and onions."

So yes, I'm down for this.

This film is not yet rated. Someone please tell me New Line isn't pushing for a PG-13 on this.

With, I'm sure, the Unrated version to be released on DVD just like Anchorman.
